Mid-Atlantic D.O.G.S. a Maryland based
Search and Rescue Organization visit for a training day.
Quite a few team members came out to see how the
field work we do with retrievers may apply to the work they do for search and rescue. The FEMA Type
II canine test requires handlers to direct their dog to
different elevated platforms at a distance. This work is
very similar to work we do in teaching the beginning steps
of handling. The training day went well. This is a hard

Lexi qualified in both Senior and Master at Rebel Ridge
this weekend. That finished her Senior title and makes her
second Master leg.
To Jerry Wilks and Jackson. Jackson finished his Senior
title in the Carolinas this weekend.

took second place
At the 2003 Super Retriever Series held in in Middleburg, VA
Woody and Blue are on their way to Stuttgart, AK to compete
in the
Team of the Year Challenge.

Nick Elam won two Qualifying stakes at the
triple derby/Q
hosted by Carolina Piedmont, Down East and Tar Heel
in Cheraw, SC in February 2004 with his young "Hanna"
Joe Skaggs, a friend and frequenter of
our training group lives in Montana now. He recently took
second place with Absaroka Magpie at the California
South Coast trial.

Mark Mills and "Dallas" had a great year hunting ducks and
geese. Dallas showed hidden talent on upland game birds. Here
she is pointing quail, three setters are backing her.
We're planning pond renovations and additions at our water
training facility in the spring of 2004. We will keep you
posted.
