FC Broadreach Pebble MH
1996 National Open Championship, Ardmore, OK
Pebble was bred and owned by Buddy and
Martha Lee Voshell. She was a big, good looking bitch. She
wasn’t flashy but she was a good marker and she went well at
trails. However, she just wouldn’t apply herself in
training. Because of her training attitude, I wasn’t sure about her future as a trial
dog but Mrs. Voshell believed in her so we kept trying.
Finally, I had just about convinced Mrs. Voshell that she
should retire her, when Pebble won a tough Open at Blue
Ridge Retriever Club.
When I called to share the good news
Mrs. Voshell was delighted. She listened to my description
of the highlights of each series and Pebble’s work. When I’d
finished, Martha Lee asked politely “Well Pat, do you think
maybe we ought to leave her in training for a few more weeks
now?”
Pebble did stay in training and won the
Open at Ocean city that fall finishing her title. Mrs.
Voshell handled Pebble to her MH. Pebble produced several MH
offspring, many fine shooting dogs, and one OTCH that is a
top obedience dog.
