Our
Retriever Training kennel location
My home and our kennel are
situated on 12 ½ acres just outside Smithsburg, Maryland. In
addition to our kennels, we have a grooming facility and
plenty of room for basic obedience and beginning yard work at
this site.
Our Dog Training Kennels
Our dogs are kept in individual
runs. We have two kenneling options for your dog, including an
indoor/outdoor heated kennel with Bob Long fencing, isolation
panels, and plastic resting beds inside. The outside portion
is covered for shade and provides shelter from the rain. We
also offer freestanding, covered outdoor runs with barrel
housing for use in moderate weather.

We train on several farms within
15 minutes of the kennel offering a wide variety of terrain
and cover.
Ponderosa Kennels Custom built retriever training ponds
In addition to numerous natural
ponds, custom-built ponds provide exceptional opportunities
for retriever training. We have the large pond you see here,
as well as several more technical ponds designed to offer
maximum training flexibility. At these locations we are able
to expose your dog to long swims, multiple reentries, points,
islands, and channels. A variety of blinds, boats, cover in
the water, and stick ponds are readily available for our use.
New pond remodeling was completed in the spring of 2004.
